Vendor Relationship Management

I thought I read somewhere in the forum about vendor relationship management responses to the NCUA directive for credit unions to have a program in place for monitoring. Last year the NCUA paid us a visit and were not sold on our vendor due diligence program, so we "threw it out the window" and started from scratch.  Our new program requires more information, as well as accountability from our vendors so we can better determine the level of risk.  Currently we are experiencing push back from our vendors because they have never been asked to provide documentation before and they appear to be taking this as a sign the credit union has lost trust in their work.  This is not the case and the vendors have been advised via a direct phone call that the credit union is requesting the vendor provide the documentation so a baseline can be established. Are the rest of you receiving forms of resistence from your vendors?  How are you able to successfully get your vendors to understand the reason why you are asking for said information?
