I would be interested to know if anyone has a Quality Assurance Department at their credit union and if so what their duties include. Additionally, where does the department fit into your organization chart? We have one and management is considering some changes. Currently the department has three Specialist positions but also has compliance functions and a BSA Specialist that falls under the Compliance Officer. QA and the Compliance Officer report to the Chief Lending Officer. One concern they have is self-auditing - they review loans and report deficiencies yet they are in the lending division. Any feedback you can provide is appreciated.
