I am wondering what other credit unions do in regards to cashing a non member credit union item or an official check created by your own institution. We currently cash draft withdrawals through the account they are drawn off of but our concern is that it still shows as cash out under our member's ID. For official checks cashed by non members we would typically run it through our unprocessed GL but only the Head Teller and Manager have password capabilities to do that without being in a member's account. So to better serve our members, we have tellers cash them through the remitter's account. This creates the same problem-- that the check is showing on our member's account history. We are considering opening a credit union account where tellers can cash checks for non members. Our biggest concern with this is if we are collecting and reporting BSA information appropriately. Does anyone else use CUinfy by Fiserv who maybe have a similar dilemma? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
