Coronavirus impacts on internal controls

As my organization meets the challenges posed by social distancing, reduced staff and increased member traffic, there have been some suggestions by front line staff to suspend dual control for certain activities, such as clearing night drops.

Is anyone here experiencing similar questions and if so, how are you managing your responses?

My initial reaction is that we can rely on secondary controls such as cameras and have staff show items to the camera, as well as evaluate means to identify and resolve discrepancies timely.

Other interim compensating control include restricting this freedom to staff who have clearly demonstrated commitment to the organization and by messaging to all staff that active monitoring of cameras is in place. We may also extend our video retention period.

Any assistance or guidance here will be most gratefully received.
