We have a system in place where we retain all paper checks (Check 21) for 90 days. After day 91, we place them into a shred bin and when we have filled all of the bins (three) we call Iron Mountain and they do on-site shredding. Management is looking to have the checks shredded offsite. Anyone have any insight or experience with on-site vs. off-site shredding of checks?
